Messages From The Gospel Shed

The Gospel Shed
Pastor Marty Miller

Thanksgiving day has come and gone, but we should be thankful for God's
provisions for us every day.All too often, we take things for granted. We
expect the sun to rise every day at the appointed time and it does. We expect
food and drink avaliable when we are hungry or thirsty, and there it is.We
expect the lights to come on when we flip the switch and they usually do.It's
so easy to take for granted the every day world we live in.
Have you ever thought of what you're most thankful for? God's Word tells
us that God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us. Romans 5:8. Do we take that for granted? I think we do
sometimes. Even in this life, we do not immediately love and trust the first
time we meet that special someone who eventually becomes our mate for life.
It takes time to develop that relationship to the point you can fully love
and trust someone. On the other hand, God loved us before we loved Him!
The great thing about God's love is that He doesn't write us off when we
fail to obey Him. Just like a loving parent, He allows us the opportunity to
repent of bad deeds and be back in a right relationship with Him. When the
rent or bank note is due, you either pay it or you're out. I thank God that
we don't have to work or suffer pain to attain God's love when we have done
wrong just to have God love us again. However, God has a heart just like we do.
When we suffer for the cause of Christ, He hurts too! When we joy for the
cause of Christ, He does too!
Never take God's presence or provisions for granted. He wants us to not
only bring our petitions before Him, but also our praise to Him. It should be
just as easy to talk to Him as it to talk with our own father. After all,God
is our heavenly father.Praise Him and thank Him with all your heart.
